Effective date: October 4, 2026.
This policy explains what personal information is collected when you visit feetkeepers.com, how it’s used, how long it’s kept and what rights you have. The site is run from Spain, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. We also follow the privacy laws that protect readers in the United States, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Who we are
feetkeepers.com is owned and operated by María Luisa Villanueva Palacios, based in Puzol (Valencia), Spain. You can reach her through our contact page.
What we collect and why
| Information | Why we use it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Technical data from your visit: IP address, browser, operating system, page requested, referring page, date and time | To keep the site running, protect it from attacks and fix errors | For the log rotation period set by our hosting provider, and no longer than needed for those purposes |
| Language preference (pll_language cookie) | To show the site in the language you chose | One year |
| Usage data: pages viewed, time on page, device and browser type, approximate country or city, referring page. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses | To understand which stories people read and improve the site, using aggregate statistics | Cookies up to two years; data in Google Analytics up to 14 months |
| Your cookie choices | To remember what you accepted or declined so we don’t ask again | One year |
| Your name, email address and message, if you use our contact form | To reply to you | For as long as the conversation lasts, then only as long as needed to handle any legal claims |
Under the CCPA, these fall into the categories of identifiers (IP address, email address, online identifiers) and internet or other electronic network activity information. We collect them directly from you or your browser. Analytics only runs if you accept it in our cookie banner, which is how we ask for consent under EU law as well.
What we don’t do
- No comments, user accounts or newsletter. The only form is our contact form: what you send arrives by email and isn’t stored on the site.
- No targeted advertising, and no analytics unless you opt in.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making.
- We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we have not done so in the past 12 months.
Who else sees it
Two service providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements: our host, Hostinger International Ltd. (Cyprus, EU), and Google, which provides Google Analytics if you opt in. Google acts as our service provider: we keep Google Signals and ad personalization turned off, so analytics data isn’t used to target ads. Google Search Console shows us aggregate search statistics that don’t identify anyone. Otherwise, we only disclose information to authorities when the law requires it.
Where your data is stored
Our servers are in the European Union. If you visit from the United States, your technical data is transferred to and processed in the EU. Google Analytics data may be processed by Google LLC in the United States.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws, and under the GDPR, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
- Correct information that’s inaccurate.
- Delete your personal information.
- Give you a copy in a portable format.
- Stop processing it, or limit how we use it.
Reach us through our contact page. We’ll verify your request and respond within 45 days, as the CCPA requires, or within one month for GDPR requests. You can use an authorized agent. We will never treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you’re in the EU, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We don’t track you across other websites, so we don’t respond differently to Do Not Track signals. Analytics stays off until you opt in, and you can turn it off at any time from the cookie settings link in our footer. If we ever add tools that sell or share personal information, we’ll honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out.
Children’s privacy
feetkeepers is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them, in line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The site always runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and our software is kept up to date. No system is bulletproof, but we use reasonable safeguards for the kind of data we handle.
Links to other sites
Our stories link to sources and third-party websites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them, and we’re not responsible for their practices.
Ads and affiliate links
The site doesn’t show ads or use affiliate links yet. If we turn on services that collect personal information, we’ll update this policy before they go live and give you a way to opt out where the law requires.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy when the site’s services change and revise the effective date at the top.
