Editorial Standards

feetkeepers exists so you finish every story knowing something new about your feet, the things you put on them or the industry that profits from both. These are the rules behind everything we publish. They’re public so you can hold us to them.

What we cover

Explainers on feet and footwear: anatomy, biomechanics, materials, manufacturing, the business side, history and culture. Every technical term gets explained in plain English, no prior knowledge assumed. A story that just piles up facts doesn’t run.

What we don’t publish

  • Product reviews, head-to-head comparisons or “best of” lists.
  • Medical advice of any kind.
  • Sexual or fetish content, including the kind dressed up as cultural commentary.

Where we draw the medical line

We can tell you how the foot is built and how it works. We can’t tell you what to do when something hurts or worries you. So at feetkeepers:

  • We don’t diagnose, and we never suggest you might have a condition.
  • We don’t connect symptoms to diseases.
  • We don’t recommend treatments, remedies or products as a fix for any health problem.
  • We don’t give instructions or dosages.
  • We don’t promise health outcomes. Nothing in our stories “relieves,” “cures,” “prevents” or “corrects” anything.

When a topic touches on health (diabetic foot, fungal infections, ingrown toenails, wounds, plantar fasciitis, bunions, ongoing pain, children’s feet or pregnancy) we keep it descriptive and general, and we always close by pointing you to a podiatrist or physician.

Facts and sources

Every fact is checked against primary sources: peer-reviewed research, government agencies, technical standards, archives and manufacturer documentation. We don’t quote numbers from memory and we don’t estimate them. Anything we couldn’t confirm is flagged as such in the text. Sources are linked so you can check them yourself.

We choose our words carefully. Foot science is full of nuance, so you’ll read “tends to,” “according to” or “is associated with” rather than a sweeping claim we can’t back up.

Products and affiliate links

When we mention a product, we describe what it is and how it works, never what it supposedly treats. Some stories may contain affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those stories say so clearly, and a link never decides what we write or how. The full details are in our affiliate disclosure.

Advertising

The site is partly funded by third-party advertising. Ads are kept separate from editorial content and labeled as advertising. No advertiser reviews, commissions or shapes what we publish.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and note in the story what changed and when. We don’t quietly erase mistakes.

Everything on feetkeepers is general information and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. See our health disclaimer.
